Week 15 Update

First my wig...Oakland Girl by FreeTresses.

I got the wig. Tried it on and was super super impressed. I could hardly believe how natural it looked. But alas, I think I'll save it for special occasions because I haven't mastered the whole scarf then wig cap thing - it kept sliding off. Plus I messed with it all day the 2 days I wore it. Distracting. Always checking if it was on correctly and running to the bathroom.

Yes ppl, it's my face again. It pops up every now and again.

Then my hair....holy roots!

Last night during my detangle, I was just super overwhelmed by my hair. I know it has some texlax to it but it is very very slight. Actually it just prolly makes my hair another natural texture. It is nowhere near a normal texlax. I like it that way but I think calling it texlaxed is super misleading. I will be taking pics of my texture as soon as I have a working camera. These pics have all been taken with my iPhone...

Anyhoo, I bought a couple new prods in the last month. So here are the reviews:

1. Nature's Gate Jojoba Revitalizing Conditioner for damaged hair
I always buy prods for damaged hair so my hair can get mucho nutrients. I've been using this for the last 3 weekends. I don't DC with it, I condish with it after my DC. It really softens my hair and makes detanging a breeze. One weekend I ran the comb through my hair in the shower it was so soft. I almost never do that - I have been detangling in 6 or so sections recently. I think I'm gonna start washing in plaits pretty soon. Anyhoo, all I can say is I double triple recommend this conditioner (even tho it has cetyl alcohol...).

2. John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum Extra Strength formula
Yea, like I said, I always get the strongest protection or whatever for my hair. I got this because I decided to be bold and flat iron my hair last weekend. I airdried with only it in my hair and then used my IC fantasia heat protectant and flat ironed in tiny pieces with one pass on the second to highest setting. It took forever. I did okay for my first time - The roots weren't as flat as I'd like. Also, my flat iron is a cheapo (Bed Head Tigi) so I may hold off flat ironing till I can get something better. I do think it was too small...I couldn't bump my hair. Maybe I need a bigger one to do bumps??? Next time I want straight hair, I'll go to the salon. I have no complaints about this product but I am no pro so what can I say...

Because my hair was still thick at the roots, I had to put it up. This bun made me proud all day!!! Used those 2 small combs at the side and pins :)

3. Nature's Gate Organics Herbal Blend Moisturizing Conditioner - Chamomile and Lemon Verbena
I am using this as a leave-in. Used it last night to detangle...worked fine. It is def not as thick as my HE LTR leave-in so I felt shafted for some reason but it worked well I think to detangle my hair. Won't say anything yet re: recommendations since I only used it once.

Soooo, in other news, the back of my hair felt like a dry matted mess last night before my wash. This week, I will be trying to do my spray at least every other day to lock in moisture.

Product haul! Been awhile

I don't have the dough to really do any damage when I'm buying prods but every now and again I treat myself or running out of stuff gives me a lovely opportunity to try something different. Well, last night I spent some quality time in the BSS and here's the result:

Something old: My BSS now sells JBCO! I have wanted to join my Listas on their JBCO Challenge but have been lazy to take the train to Harlem to get some but lo and behold I saw they have it in my BSS now :-D for like $3 more but I won't complain! Welcome back to my regimen old pal.

Something new: A new moisturizer! I went in thinking I'd just get my wave nouveau but I started reading the backs of the different ones they offer looking if maybe something new may be good for me and ended up with this. I think the ingredients looked okay and mineral oil wasn't the 2nd or 3rd ingredients like so many of the other moisturizers. This is a little thicker than my WN but I'm thinking since it's winter, it may be better.

Something borrowed: Soooo, I've been on the hunt for a replacement heavy protein. Since I didn't do much research, I just borrowed from my knowledgeable lady Sunshyne's list of heavy protein prods (which includes: aphogee 2 step, nexxus emergencee and keraphix, and mizani kerafuse for all interested). I have Mizani kerafuse and I'm just not in love. It is SOOOO thick (think mud) that it is a trial to apply and I just don't feel confident it's getting anywhere.

Something blue: Nothing blue hahaha except me maybe when I went to the register and found out my Mane n Tail condish (for my cowashes) was over $6.49. I kindly put it back. He's nuts....I can get 2 of that for $7. Crazy man.

Been awhile...1 week post pics

So one week and one day after my relaxer, this is what I did:

-hot oil treatment with carrot oil
-shampoo with neut & chelating poo
-Sedal ceramides
-rollerset, dry, and wrap

So, yes, my hair still needs some protein. Gonna find some this weekend...I really don't wanna do aphogee 2 step (too much!) so PLEASE LEAVE ME SUGGESTIONS. I won't get it till Friday. Emergencee keeps coming to my mind, anyone recommend? Last resort, I'll be heading to the hair tips/product reviews on Hairlista & KISS for my suggestion.

Really anxious for some growth & a couple new prods

So, here's a quick update.

First, I apologize for the lack of a photo. I absolutely love to take and post pics of my hair but unfortunately, I don't have my camera and I have to post when I have the time (not often). The second job is going well. It's only a 3 month stint so I'll be back in Dec. Well, I'll have work and school but at least it'll only be one job and school.

I have been itching to see if I have any major growth. I usually am not this impatient during my stretch. I am only 5 weeks. I have 5-7 weeks left. I guess BSL is just so elusive I am becoming overly anxious.

Anyhoo, with the change in season is coming some small changes in my regimen:

1. I co-washed last week & it made for easy detangling on the weekend so I think a midweek cowash is a useful addition to my regimen. I don't do it cause I'm lazy but I really need to start making the time.

2. I am going out to get the new Elasta QP mango butter moisturizer (they've added olive oil so now it's olive oil and mango butter - thanks Traycee). I'll let you know how I like it.

3. I read on Course Hair, Long Hair about how she incorporates coconut oil into her regimen to make detangling easier. I'm very curious and will be giving it a try.

4. Finally, I have gotten some great advice from Lavendar and I have done some research and thought about it for over a month and I have decided henna is ON. I will post the details.

That's all folks! Thanks for reading :)

Happy rinser here! (long & pic heavy)

So it's been awhile. But I didn't forget you (hence the ton of pics)....I've been storing it all up :) Anyhow, I've been very curious about the various rinses and have managed to try 2 this past week. I would recommend both.

Black Tea Rinse
The black tea rinse is supposed to help stop shedding, add shine, and in some cases add color (temporary) to the hair. It can be drying but conditioning will help to prevent your hair from becoming dried out after use. To be honest I wanted to incorporate something new to my regimen. I wanted my hair to get an infusion of something new and refreshing. I loooove looove tea so I already had some in my cupboard. I used Stash Chai Black Tea this time but plan to buy a cheaper brand for regular hair usage. I boiled an entire saucepot and put 2 teabags in to steep last Thurs night. I poured it in a jug Fri morning and left it for later. Fri I cowashed with my Mane n Tail (seems like I forgot abt HE LTR but I haven't) then rinsed it out in the shower and did the black tea rinse. I left it on my hair while I scrubbed the tub and showered. Then I rinsed it out, and put my alter ego garlic cond in my hair, covered w a plastic bag and hat and headed out to choir. Approx 3 hours later I rinsed and roller set (w HE LTR leave in and JC Sol spray). I allowed my hair to air dry over night, then sat under the dryer for 20 minutes in the (Sat) morning. My hair felt dry right after the black tea rinse but after the DC was back to feeling soft.
What was different? My curls didn't hold one bit. I don't know if it was that my hair needed shampooing (product heavy - I hadn't shampooed in about a month or more at that point) but they curls died in minutes. Like 5 minutes. That has never happened before...
I wrapped my hair Sat night for a funeral I had to attend on Sunday. Loved the shine!
What didn't change: I still had the same amount of shedding I usually do.
I don't plan to stop doing this just yet. This was my first experience and it wasn't bad. I'll keep trying and see how things work out. Apparently I can incorp it into every rinse without ill effect. I'm gonna try in once or twice a month.
Since I've stuck with washing my hair on Fridays, during the week (esp when I keep up with the gym) my hair can get limp and almost greasy. Tues I sat at work highly unhappy with my hair. It was DEAD. My bun looked sick, my braid was greasy. Worst part is I hadn't been to the gym yet so there was no reason for all this yucky-ness. So I decided that after the gym that Tues I'd cowash. However, I remembered how my hair came out Sat morning & how I was thinking it needed a poo. I just didn't want to shampoo my hair though...I really want to get away from it. So, I decided to take the plunge and do an Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) rinse.

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
ACV rinses are acidic and because hair is acidic also (unlike most hair products which are alkaline), it is supposed to be good for our hair. Apparently, it is especially good for curly hair. Why? Because it rids the hair of product residue naturally without all the stripping of the shampoo, and because it helps close the cuticles of the hair (helps hair to retain moisture, and be protected from damage). I'm writing all this info (also for black tea rinse) from memory of what I read so feel free to add more info or google for more details.
I mixed 1/4 cup of ACV with 3 cups of tap water. I co-washed with Mane n Tail then did my Aphogee 2 min keratin reconstructor rinsed in the shower then did the ACV rinse. Now, some people leave it on their hair and other rinse it out. I'd like to think I did the in between. I rinsed it in the shower for like 5 seconds. I just wanted to get some out. I air dried using the scarf method from Sunshyne (w HE LTR leave in). My hair felt so soft! It dried soft too!
What was different? The hugest thing for me was little to no hair in my comb after detangling WOW. I have never seen this little hair at almost 7 weeks (7 weeks tomorrow)...I was impressed! It's been awhile since I took a pic of the hair coming out (I don't want to start obsessing again) but I was amazed. Oh, people complain about the smell but for me it was gone once my hair dried.
I love this! Some people do ACV rinses weekly. For now I think I may do it monthly.

The first giveaway is on it's way! I can't wait to share something special with you loves!
Thank you. You really are a great bunch. This blog is really a hair journal. I didn't know if my hair journey would be good or bad or if I would have any advice (since my hair is growing as I blog instead of me already growing my hair and then teaching y'all) so it may have been repetitive (since I'm journaling) and may not always have great info (but always photos lol) since I'm learning and undecided a lot but you still come and read & comment...I truly appreciate your support :)

Diva Smooth Update & random pics

So I wrote to the folks at Diva Smooth (Janelle Beauty) for an exact listing of the ingredients versus the page of ingredients in the line...I wanted to know what was in the DIVA SMOOTH itself. Here's the response:

You can check out the ingredient page to ensure there is nothing in any of our hair care products that you might be allergic to. There are no chemicals in any of our products, therefore, there is nothing to change your virgin hair into chemically processed hair. Your hair will remain virgin hair, but you will now have the flexibility to wear straight styles whenever you desire.

So Idk what exactly is in the smooth product. The end until someone (outside of the vendor) reviews this for me.

Here's my attempt at claw clipping versus bunning. I am attempting to minimize the stress on my hair. This should be possible at least 5 weeks out of my 12 weeks stretch and on the days after wash day or even wash day itself.

Prods for last wash: lustrasilk, honey, proclaim 7 oil mix for dry DC, mane n tail for cowash, HE LTR and JC solutions for leave in

Midweek cowash

I had jury duty today so I decided to spruce things up midweek. Instead of bunning, I cowashed when I got home from the gym with Mane n' Tail and then did my 2 minute reconstructor, roller set (orange curlers), and went to bed. This morning I spent ten minutes under the dryer. That's all. I have some product reviews below.

I am 6 weeks and 6 days post relaxer
This morning

End of day

Mane n Tail Moisturizer Texturizer Conditioner - it is a new fav for cowashing! I cannot believe I'm writing that. I mean, I absolutely hated it as a DC. It made my hair feel like a mess but the last few times I've just used it as a cowash and my hair has felt great plus little to no shedding (& that's a huge shocker for me) which is amazing *big grin*

Jane Carters Solution - this is a great leave in for roller sets. It doesn't get hard (which is all I ever really need). Ever. It smells great, has fantastic ingredients, and leaves my hair lovely and shiny. Here is the list of ingredients:

Purified Water, Extracts of Aloe Vera, Comfrey, Watercress, Myrrh, Panthenol, Essential Oils, Anthemis Noblis Flower, Symphytum OfficinalLeaf, Equisetum Arvense, Urtica Dioica (Nettle), Rosemarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf, Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Lawsonia Inermis (Henna), Butoxyethenol, Polyquarternium11, Soyamid DEA, PPG30, Cetyl Ether, Oleth-3 Phosphate, Hydantoin,

Do new prods make you feel all happy inside too?

LOL. I went to Vitamin Shoppe to get some new prods - the Jane Carter's Solution leave in, a sealant oil (not for my DCs), and aloe vera juice to replace Motions Nourish leave in spray for my ponytails and buns. I love buying hair prods. Good thing I don't have a lot of disposable income, I'd have a mini BSS in my bedroom.

I totally feel the difference already using my aloe vera juice mix instead of the Motions. My hair is much smoother. This is the mix - little less than half the bottle with water, half with aloe juice then topped off with some grape seed oil. I sprayed it last night before moisturizing and sealing. Then I tied my hair down for the night. In the morn, I moisturize and seal then bun.

Now, the Jane Carter's. I use it to roller set in addition to my HE LTR leave in. This is something I could never do with the Motions because it would make my hair a little hard so I'd spray it after I was done roller setting.

I also restocked on WN. I still need some other items (mango butter, cheapy condish, oil - proclaim 7 or hot6) but the places were closed (before 8:30 too, so early I think).

I'm back

Last Friday I went to get a blow out. I co-washed and DC'ed then went to get it rinsed out and rollerset at the hair salon. Got lots of compliments on my hair but we were running late and by the time I could take a pic, I had taken a couple of myself and the camera went kaput. So no hair pic till the next day after I was dancing all night and slept on the hair (no wrap). But I got a number of compliments on my hair (and some jealous comments about my hair looking thin haha. My hair is always this thin...I have fine hair. Just lots of it).
Here's Tuesday's bun.
I'm heading to the Vitamin Shoppe today to get some products for my hair:

1. Aloe Vera Juice (no more Motions Spray to slick back hair for my buns and ponytails)
2. Jane Carter's Solution spray leave in
3. Sealant oil
4. Hair moisturizer (yes people, I'm gonna try something new but I'll still get my wave nouv.)

I also need more:

1. Wave nouv.
2. Proclaim 7 oil
3. Mango butter (unless I see something better at Vitamin Shoppe)

-I'm 5 weeks tomorrow-

Amping up regimen temporarily

I took special effort with my Easter curls but then my praise dancing messed it all up. The pics are all I have to offer. I was rushing this morning so I didn't have the time to take pics prior. They looked much better lol.

I restocked on shampoo. Was in Target and saw Aussie Moist. Since I love the conditioner I decided to try the shampoo. Not so bad. I pre-pooed overnight w my proclaim and JBCO. Then I shampooed, did protein reconstructor, DCed for 10 mins w heat under dryer, roller set on orange curlers and dried. Oh! I tried the leave in sample I got. I will do a full review next weekend after my second try but I think this is about to be my new leave in spray. I'm so sorry Motions but this is paraben free, organic, and has minimal amount of chemicals. Plus, I can't use my Motions to set (makes my hair hard so I just spray it over the hair after it's set). Anyhoo....review on it's way.

Now unto the real stuff. My hair's been in a funk. What do I mean? A little breakage, and shedding. Plus I think once a week washing isn't working for me. I really wanted it to but I think my hair needs a midweek co-wash. I also need to replenish my mango butter stock. My hair appreciates a protein kick in the week. I won't update the regimen yet. This is a trial.

Oh, I'm 4 weeks.

I co-washed midweek

The one thing I have no time for and said I couldn't do.

Why? Because while at the gym last night little broken pieces of hair were coming out in my hand. The first thing I thought was my hair got sweated out Sat night and Sun at dance rehearsal. Then last night at the gym made the 3rd sweat out and dry since my Sat roller set. I have dance again Thurs. That would just be too too much for my hair.

So after gym, I put some mane n tail in my hair (after the sweat air dried) for about 5 minutes, then rinsed it out, then co-washed with mane n tail, and did a last wash with my NTM daily condioner (to combat the mane n tail). I bunned my hair right there in the shower w a little NTM for leave in. No detangling. I pat out some of the moisture with a t-shirt, then tied it down and went to bed. Still wet this morning. I just moisturized and sealed then put it back up. But since it's been out for an hour or so (since I got into work), it dried a bit. I finger combed it a bit this morning but nothing came out. I hate to see breakage. That's lost length. So I abs had to co-wash...my hair was talking to me.

Quick review of Mane n Tail: So far, it absolutely does NOT work in my DC mix but seems to cowash well. Go figure. My hair was still soft when I was done.
I guess this mid week regimen is still a work in progress.

A new product, my curls & the gym

Yes. A packed post lol.

So, first things first. I went to BSS to get some conditioner. My plan was my garlic conditioner, and a cheapie to do my mixed up conditioner. As usual, I got distracted. I saw Sedal SOS ceramide conditioner and remembered reading about them. Curiosity killed the cat I know but I really can't help myself. So I bought the conditioner. It was $7.99 so cheaper than my garlic cond ($16.99). Can't seem to find a pic so I'll have to take one and post another time. Mine is in a jar. Oh, I should point out I work in a Latino neighborhood so I'll always find those products. Then I got my cheapie -Lustra Silk. They have an organic conditioner now so I got that instead of the regular olive oil I usually buy.

I cowashed with my Neutrogena triple moisture (NTM) daily conditioner which I forgot I had. Can I just say, NTM, HE LTR condish, and Aussie Moist condish are THE BEST cowash conditioners you could invest in. Well, that's been my experience. They never let me down. Then I applied the Sedal (I did add some JBCO to it), and DC'ed overnight. I detangled in the shower this time, then rinsed and roller set with HE LTR leave in.

Review of ceramides: This was my first use but it smells great, is pink, and has a lovely soft texture (not thick like DPR 11 or Mizani Kerafuse) similar to the cholesterol fam of cheapie conditioners. My hair was nice and soft when I took shower cap off in the morning though I worried about leaving it so long (but all was well). When I rinsed it, I felt lots of slip but when it was all out, I lost the slip feel ...it dried beautiful though. Nice and shiny as you'll see below.

Curly Style #1
I will try to show you my curly styles and my straight styles. This is how I do my roller set curly style - I do this with the orange curlers or the pink ones (smaller - takes longer to dry). I sat 45 minutes under the dryer.

Then I remove the curlers, separate with some IC gloss (I use the one for damaged hair because I want my hair to get as much of whatever they put in it lol so I recommend you buy that one) on my hands and thats it. This is 20 minutes after I've removed the curlers. The curls drop on their own so don't pull on them.

This is after I've been out in the wind, dust, and been at church (4 hours after). The weather was wonderful!
Now for the gym. I don't quite think I want to introduce my hair to dry conditioner but I'm heading to the gym this week and I need to do something. For now, I'm planning to just use a bit of leave-in and seal after, allowing it to air dry. Then I'll wash as usual at the end of the week.

Oh! One more thing. I got a leave in from a friend. It's just a tester bottle but I'll be excited to try it. It's called Jane Carter Solution revitalizing leave-in conditioner. If anyone's used it, let me know what you thought. Based on what I'm reading on the site, I think it's something I'm gonna love. I really like the ingredients. It maaaay replace my motions nourish. We'll see.....

After relaxer care

Usually after a relaxer I'll find myself looking at my hair more than usual. Maybe it's the new length or whatever but this is a good time to notice any split ends or pixie knots (those tiny knots that form in the strand). If I see any such thing, I get to dusting. One of my lovely readers asked about trims and dusting in my relaxer post and motivated me to do a search & destroy. I saw 1 split end and a pixie knot. I got rid of those then did an overall dust just to be sure.

So #1 after relaxer care: check out the ends.

The next thing I do is protein. One week after relaxer, I think protein is very necessary. I usually do my 2 step aphogee protein the week before and then just a reconstructor the week after. This time however, I was on a hunt for some stronger protein for the week after my relaxer. I didn't want to do the whole 2 step thing (it's a process) but I use the reconstructor weekly because it's so light and I feel my hair needs more since it's just been relaxed. Guess what I forgot I had? My Mizani Kerafuse. I bought it months ago, used it once, and put it away. It's a protein treatment made specifically for use post chemical services. I didn't really enjoy the texture of the product the first time I used it (very thick similar to DPR-11 in texture in that it does not budge lol) so I added a bit of my Proclaim conditioner, and JBCO to it to loosen it up. I used it under dryer with plastic cap for about 20 mins. The results were good this time as well as last time (see link above) so I say Kerafuse may become my new after relaxer protein (it's too pricey to use regularly).

So #2 after relaxer care: protein.

Hope you all found this helpful!

On the right is my newly washed hair Sat - I think when I wash it, there's some shrinkage...it was all puffy lol. Then on the left is Sunday before I covered with scarf & hat to head out to help my friend clean her new apartment.

I am done

Relaxing next Friday. I don't care that I haven't done my protein and clarifying (I was gonna do it next week) because my hair gave me a scare today. It felt like hay (don't blame Mane n' Tail, don't blame Mane n' Tail), seriously. Plus it was so detangled it took me forever to detangle it and all of this came out:
Not good.

Did I mention my hair felt like trash? I am still trying to figure out if I'm just overreacting (very likely). But in any case I just feel way out of my league. So yea, I give up. 10 weeks is the most I've ever done and now 11 will be it. All this shedding (probably breakage though I don't see any) and tangled mess is too much for me. I'll leave it to the pros. So there's my monster stretch, 11 weeks lol.

Mane n' Tail experience: So I DC'ed with some DPR-11 I didn't know I had with honey, JBCO, and a little Mane n'Tail (MT). Now, w/o the Mane n' Tail, this is a staple DC of mine that always works well for me. Then I co-washed with HE LTR, another staple of mine yet my hair felt crazy rough. The 2 weeks I've used MT in my DC mixes, my hair has just felt awful - like straw. The week before I used it my hair was still being great. For this reason I'm giving it away. It just doesn't seem to work for me. I should try it again after I relax to see if it is really the problem but since I wasn't on a hunt for a new product and I already have conditioners I love, I won't. I'll stick with what works. Sometimes experimenting helps me find something great, sometimes not. Next time I'm at 10 and 11 weeks I'll see if this is typical behavior for my hair. That will absolve the blame I've given MT.

Here's my dry DC:
*my camera died so these are from the BB*

UPDATE 2/22/2010:
So my hair dried and it actually felt fine. It also wasn't shedding or breaking. I really want to relax this Friday but I'll see if my pocket will allow it...it doesn't seem that way but a girl can hope. So, although I am quite over my NG, I may be stretching one more week. Since I have to make lemonade out of lemons, at least I get to do my protein.

3 days late but here's the weekend in review

So, did my weekly wash with HE LTR condish, 2 minute keratin reconstructor, and a garlic cond, honey, JBCO deep conditioner with heat for about 20 mins. This was week 4.

pre wash after gym

wash day & night

I think my hair is getting dry during the week with just the one wash so I also tried a ponytail baggy. I tied a shower cap around my pony. I dunno if that did a thing lol. I'm gonna try to baggy, 1-3 times per week. I don't want my hair to get dry. I am also reconsidering my aloe juice, drop of oil, and water mix.

baggy results

New purchase! I replaced my carrot oil with proclaim oil from Sally's. Already I can say I enjoy the scent and it's light (runny) but I don't mind because that mixes well with my very thick JBCO.

Plan to pre-poo Thurs night and wash w poo Fri night...

Washed yesterday

Used the Mizani strengthening treatment as recommended on container (10 mins under dryer w plastic cap). I don't sense anything different but I'll let you know after a couple uses. Anyhow, I cowashed w HE LTR and then DC'd, rollerset, and sat under dryer for 45 mins (still damp in places) then had to rush out.

I am 6 weeks post
Next wash: Fri morning at the hairdresser. Pincurls are in order.

Hair & product haul

Been swamped! I am back in school and so finding time to blog is becoming an art.

I finally made it to Sally's and I left with three things:
1. Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol (for my JBCO DCs)..I'll have to do a review. I almost ended up getting something else because there are so many SE conditioners but I decided to stick with the one I'd read up the most about first.

2. A huge bottle of my staple protein, Aphogee 2 minute reconstructor -this was 9.99, I paid 7.99 for the small one at my other bss

aaaaaaaaaaand
3. A Sally's member card. I paid 5 bucks for it but I get 5 bucks back next month so it's already going to pay for itself. I need to replenish some items in Oct and I can't wait to go back. Especially since I'll be in my new place by then (I'm moving) yipeeeee!

So I did my weekly 2 minute protein and DC last Saturday night. I wanted to do a check to see how the JBCO has been working. Here's my wet pic...how to you think it compares with the one I took at the beginning?
NOW

THEN
Does it look like I filled in a little? I don't see growth but I think the middle looks better. I think I'm going to be disappointed when I relax in Oct but whatever, I tried.

Anyhoo, I attempted a twist out and NOTHIN! Was a hot mess so I ended up bunning. I AM OFFICIALLY OVER BRAID AND TWIST OUTS lol. Seriously, too much effort and though they work sometimes, when they don't work, this disappointment is too huge. I had somewhere to go and ended up looking mighty strange plus trying to tame a twist out into a bun results in loss of hair. I'll stick to my rollers.

Check my 7 week NG. ching ching!
I think this is yesterday's bun.

Washing and rolling tonight.

Hair today...

I think I should do a baggy tonight...

JBCO observations: I realize that for me and my hair castor oil has to be mixed with my DC or another oil for sealing...it is just tooooo thick and sticky. Hair is very soft.
